How wonderful is this? She sent me pencils first and then had them inked by the next day. Busy woman and I LOVE her for it! Enjoy the girls, because I sure do
. BIG THANK YOU to Carla!
And if you’re not already familiar with Carla’s work, she’s the creator of FINDER and a long time supporter of my work and Charm School. So Awesome.
UPDATE: The site is now Revamped with the template now matching my main blog and WIT’S WORLD: NEVER WAS site, and all the Flash based flippingbooks are replaced with very easy and fast Slideshows. So enjoy!
I need to overhaul the Charm School place; my choice of WordPress theme is getting heavier and more unmanageable, and the Flipping Book is Flash based, which is not the best choice for display of printed stuff, in the long run. Much as I like it for the flipping action, but I understand that’s not what the usual online comics readers want in their online comics. This all takes priority after my main project, WIT’S WORLD: NEVER WAS, which you can read on the HOME page. Until then . . . well, here’s Carla’s version of the girls. Enjoy
.
best wishes,

Bring it on! Dean races her hotrod through Hell against the Weres but the bets back in Little Salem are on Fairer Than, the Wrecking Faerie. Will Dean make it out of Hell in time to fight the faerie for Bunny?
Charm School Comic Book issue 7 by Elizabeth Watasin
It’s Sweethearts Day and with love in the air, Dean and Bunny hash it out. Will Little Salem’s sweetest couple survive Dean’s hotrod race through Hell against the Weres? Bunny has other worries; Fairer Than has gotten her sword out.
Artist’s notes: The pitfalls of rushing a book out quickly; Bunny is missing her entire bottom on the last panel of page 7. WHY?? I think a speech bubble was supposed to be there, I don’t know. I could have at least drawn Dean’s head or something, but I’m sure it was meant to be covered up. Someday I’ll fix that (and who knows what the speech bubble was supposed to say).
5/1/11: THIS update should fix my moires!
MOIRES: Ah, lovely moires! Because Night is falling during the events of #7, it was the first issue of CS where I used gradient tonal patterns in the background. I always backed off on using tones to make really clear, readable black/white art and also for expediency (Fairer Than was usually the only character or object with tone in my pages so that she could stand out. Also, she is a redhead. Is that not apparent with a ‘gray’ tone?
).
However, when a tone pattern made up of beautiful dots (for printing purposes), is reduced to a smaller image via the computer, they become dots shmooshed together that form Crosses, and then the crosses shmoosh together and form Diamonds, and then the diamonds shmoosh and become Dorothy’s Gingham Dress Patterns.
So anyone who does not personally own a copy of CS #7, please believe me when I say that I did not, on purpose, thought it would be lovely to throw patterns of Gingham in the backgrounds of these very serious and anticipatory scenes.
Enjoy!!!
~~~eeeee (who believes there might be a very complicated tutorial somewhere, on how to deal with reducing tonal patterns so Gingham’ing doesn’t result. Or maybe not).
…do something with this WordPress theme I’ve never done before, so if you are visiting and it looks Very Wonky here? That was me. Doing something.
And if it all looks fine, never mind.
Hostgator hosts my site and I can't say enough good stuff about their customer service. :)
Thanks to Emma, I buy well priced tricks from the Magic Trick Store. I'm learning levitation.
I purchased Pip's Gold Sword from KULT OF ATHENA. They have the best prices on the net IMO.
